Everything You’re Wondering About

Frequently Asked Questions.

We always send a couple of sneak peeks within the first couple of days after our time together. Then for adventure sessions full galleries will be delivered between 8 – 10 weeks. For Elopements full galleries will be ready within 10 – 12 weeks.

Our timeframes are slightly higher than the average photographer as we travel a lot for work and we hand edit each photo with care. Our Videos are delicately pieced together. All of this is in order to tell your story as honestly, authentically and artistically as possible – this takes time but it’ll be worth the wait!

I’m based in Edinburgh, with my heart often in the Highlands.
Travel is a natural part of what I do, and many of my sessions unfold across Scotland’s wild and wonderful landscapes.

For Adventure Sessions and Elopements in Edinburgh, there are no additional travel or accommodation fees — this is home, and I’m always delighted to capture love stories right here.

For other locations across Scotland, travel and accommodation are already included in your Elopement and  Adventure Sessions packages, so there are no unexpected costs.

Yes — your gallery is hosted through Pic-Time, which includes a thoughtfully designed print shop where you can order albums and fine art prints with ease.

We wholeheartedly recommend the Fine Art Albums — they’re beautifully crafted and offer a timeless way to preserve your story. There’s something truly special about holding your memories in your hands.

Let’s begin with a conversation.
We’ll hop on a call (or two) to get to know each other, talk through your plans, and answer any questions you might have. Once you’re ready, we’ll send over a booking form and contract for you to look through with ease.

To secure your date, we ask for a 50% non-refundable booking fee, which covers all the work we pour into your experience before the session even begins — from emails and planning, to location scouting, time set aside just for you, and thoughtful preparation.
The remaining 50% is due one month before your session.

We also offer flexible payment plans, so if you’d prefer a different arrangement, just let us know — we’re always happy to make things work in a way that feels comfortable for you.

YOUR DATE IS NOT RESERVED UNTIL THE BOOKING FORM & CONTRACT ARE SIGNED & BOOKING FEE IS PAID.

There’s a good chance the skies might open — this is Scotland, after all.
But we don’t shy away from the rain — we embrace it. Some of our favourite images have been taken under soft drizzle or stormy skies. It only adds to the story — moody, romantic, and beautifully real.

We don’t put a number on your memories.
Your story isn’t a checklist — it’s a collection of meaningful moments, and we deliver every image that feels honest, beautiful, and true to the day.

As a gentle guide, you can expect around 50 images per hour of coverage — though often, it’s more. We simply don’t hold back if it adds to the tapestry of your story.

No — we believe your memories deserve to be honoured, not rushed. That’s why we only deliver finished, fully edited work — carefully crafted to reflect the beauty and emotion of your day. Nothing unfinished, nothing unpolished — just the story, told in its truest form.

We’re unable to include personal music choices in your video, as all music must be properly licensed.
We carefully select our music, ensuring every track is fully licensed and fits the mood of your story. You’re welcome to browse their collection if you like, but we usually recommend trusting us to choose the soundtrack — part of the magic is discovering the perfect song that brings your day to life, letting you relive those moments without distraction.

If your plans change, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
We understand life can be unpredictable. For rescheduling, we charge a 25% fee based on the total cost. If we’re unable to cover your new date ourselves, we’ll usually arrange for a trusted associate shooter — someone I’ve worked closely with before — to capture your day, while I handle the editing.

If you’re not comfortable with an associate, or if no trusted shooter is available, and you decide to cancel, a 35% cancellation fee will apply. For clients who have already paid in full, we would refund 15% of the total.

Whatever happens, my goal is to make this as smooth and supportive as possible for you.

You are always welcome here.
We’re committed to creating a safe, loving space for everyone. No matter who you love, how you love, how you dress, or how you identify — you are truly seen, celebrated, and embraced here.

For Adventure sessions, we always recommend wearing what makes you feel truly you — radiant, comfortable, and confident.

When it comes to coordinating outfits or choosing colours, a good rule of thumb is to look at the natural palette of your chosen location. Neutral and complementary tones like browns, blacks, greens, and creams tend to work beautifully year-round. Creams especially shine in winter, blending softly with the orange and brown hues of the landscape (though it’s always wise to have a darker option handy in case of snow). In summer, blues and creams pair wonderfully with lush greenery.

If you’re unsure or want some inspiration, please don’t hesitate to reach out — we’d be happy to share some examples and help you find the perfect look.

o, we don’t recommend booking planning services that bundle vendors without transparency — and we urge you to be cautious when choosing who to work with.

Due to VAT regulations, planning services must include VAT in their pricing, which often means you end up paying more than if you booked vendors directly. In some cases, planners who aren’t VAT-registered but offer all-inclusive packages can unexpectedly push past the VAT threshold, leading to complications and, unfortunately, some couples have been caught out by this.

More importantly, we believe it’s essential that you build genuine relationships with the vendors who will be part of your day. While we’re always happy to support your planning and share recommendations, it’s so important that you connect with your celebrant, florist, and everyone involved — people who truly understand and bring your vision to life.

Please take this as a friendly reminder to proceed thoughtfully and trust your instincts.c

We fully appreciate we are priced at the higher end of the market. HOWEVER, we are still making less than minimum wage. We know the numbers look big at face value and we know that can come across unjustified when the wider market rate is significantly less.

Those charging significantly less will likely not be paying taxes, not be paying VAT, they may be a hobbyist and not actually making a penny from photography, they may have other sources of income, they may rely on AI or outsourcing for all other elements of the job aside from physically shooting or they may be simply overworking and undercharging.

There is a huge lack of education in the photography world in regards for how photographers should be charging for their work and unfortunately that often leads to photographers just guessing a rate / just undercutting themselves based on someone else’s rate. This means for those of us that know the rate we should be charging prices us so high above the market rate it can come across unjustifiably high.

We are incredibly passionate about actually getting to know those we work with and really dedicate time to giving you the best experience possible. We will not be shooting back to back elopements and most certainly not be shooting 5+ elopements per week.

This isn’t just a job – it’s an art and we can only create art when we’re refreshed and intentional with our time that’s why we only take 12-18 Elopements Per Year.

We wanted to share this in the interest of being transparent as we do know these numbers are high and you deserve to know where your money is going. For us what we actually make from any payment that comes in is 20% – almost 50% goes towards Taxes & VAT and then the remaining 30% goes into the general running costs of the business.
